About Me

I provide a warm and supportive space for you to share your story, whether we are together in person or online.

I love my work, both the science and art of psychology — the “study of the soul”.

Clinical work is the heart and soul of my practice. I work in private practice and with Bahia Health in San Diego, supporting the military population. I am also on the Teaching Faculty at the Wright Institute in Los Angeles (WILA) and a Clinical Research Psychologist supporting the research activities of Dr. Kate Chard with the CERV Foundation.

A lot about me in three short sentences: I love animals. I (am lucky to) have deep conversations with many wonderful people. And — I read a lot of books!

A few more personal notes: I am a first-generation immigrant from the Czech Republic and I often work with individuals who find themselves in various stages of transition. My husband is a Marine Corps veteran, and supporting military mental health (including veterans, spouses, and kids) is important to me. After traveling for a big part of our lives, we now live on a ranch on the Central Coast of California.

There is some good reasoning behind not knowing too much about your therapist;

a blank canvas is well-suited to the imagination, and ultimately therapy is about YOU.

Areas I’ve taken a special interest in include: the treatment of trauma and stress in military and first-responder populations, the “nodal point” of anxiety, psychedelic-assisted therapy and telehealth.

With family throughout the world, I’ve been an “early adopter” of Zoom. Distance is not a barrier to great relationships or meaningful therapeutic change.

“Traveler, there is no path,

the path is made by walking.”
